News Board Wednesday
We are learning to sound out words using our jolly phonics knowledge.
We are learning to match the letter sound with the letter.
We are learning how to write each letter and the "casey" shapes it uses.
We count the words in our story and talk about the surface features, like the full stop, capital letter at the beginning of the story and why there are finger spaces between the words.

Thursday News board
Layla, Olivia , Anaya, Abanoub and Kate helped Miss Wilson to write our news board today. They used their Jolly Phonics and casey caterpillar knowledge to write each letter to create a word.
We also talked about the surface features in our writing, like the full stop and capital letter and why they are used. We also counted the words and talked about why there are finger spaced between the words.

News Board - Wednesday
Today Olivia, Ka Ho, Layla, Miya helped Miss Wilson write the sentence today. We then talked about the surface features we have used.
Knowing our letter sounds and how to write them ( casey caterpillar shapes) makes writing a sentence easier !!!!
News Board - Tuesday
Today Kate, Anaya, Eugene, Abanoub and Miya wrote our news board story. They sounded out the words and used their letter knowledge and casey shapes to form the sentence.
After they had written the story we talked about it and the surface features we could see in the sentence.

News Book - Monday
Today Eugene, Ka Ho, Sai Ho, Jessica Niu, Abanoub and Kate helped Miss Wilson to sound out and write our story. We use our sound knowledge from Jolly Phonics and Casey's letter shapes to make words.
We also talk about how many words in our story and the other surface features we have used in our writing that day.
Sharing Friday
We love to share news about the things we have brought with us to school. Having an item with us allows us something tactile to talk about.
We are learning to talk in a sentence and share the "who, what, when and how" ideas about our item.

Sharing
We like sharing our news and recording it to check we have meet our learning goals of talking clearly and in a sentence. We can also share it with our families when we go home.
